Delroy Headley

Delroy Headley, hailing from Jamaica, West Indies, now calls Maryland, USA, his home. A multi-instrumentalist, Delroy showcases his talent on rhythm guitar, bass guitar, piano, accordion, and drums. His musical journey began at Denbigh High School and Trenton High School in Jamaica, where he was immersed in a rich musical environment fostered by his family, particularly his father, who was proficient in various instruments and vocal techniques. Delroy's roots in music took hold in the church, where he first discovered his passion for performance.

Having penned most of the songs and produced all the tracks on his debut album, Delroy's musical prowess shines through as both a songwriter and a producer. His musical influences are diverse, with Belony Pierre, often hailed as the Haitian Bob Marley, serving as a significant mentor during Delroy's time in the United States. Pierre imparted invaluable lessons and introduced Delroy to Haitian zouk, enriching his musical palette.

Delroy's journey in the music industry has seen him tour with renowned acts such as Belony Pierre and the Masterful Band, Rising Sun Reggae Band, and Joseph Hill and Culture. As a founding member of the Rising Sun Reggae Band, formed in 1993, Delroy, alongside Pierre Belony, envisioned a path for Reggae Music that transcended boundaries. With an ensemble of talented musicians, including Andrea T as lead vocalist, Donald B. on drums, and additional keyboard and guitar players, Delroy plays a pivotal role as the group's bass player, vocalist, and producer.

The Rising Sun Reggae Band has graced stages across various cities, including Ocean City, Maryland; Washington, DC; Knoxville, TN; Dewey Beach, DE; Fredericksburg, VA; and San Francisco, CA. Their discography boasts several releases, with their debut album "Serious," released in 2002, garnering critical acclaim and numerous accolades at the Washington DC Reggae Music Awards.

Now, Delroy Headley presents his latest musical endeavor with the release of "Cattie," a new single featured on the Rising Sun Reggae Band Various Artists project, "Be Good To Me." This fresh single is available on all major streaming platforms, marking another milestone in Delroy's illustrious musical career.
